When I was 24 years old I received a credit card from Bank of America. The intent was to build my credit score so that I could obtain bank loans.. I spent $28 dollars on this card and forgot about it and late payment information was sent to the credit bureaus.. I called Bank of America and they REFUSED to help me.. My credit score DIED that day!! It went from in the mid 700's to the low 600's and I could now NOT qualify to get a mortgage! All of my hard work over the past five years now felt like it meant nothing!
